My wife and I own a beautiful 160 year old Victorian B&B in Chester, Vermont.  One of the greatest blessings in the area are the countless antique dealers in the Okemo Valley.  William Austin's Antiques just so happens to be Vermont's largest as well as one of the most unique and enjoyable antique shops in all of New England.

A Romantic Vermont Engagement in the Okemo Valley

Vermont's Best Romantic B&B, Inn Victoria, was host this week to one of the most romantic and unique engagements.  Jessica Knisley, our innkeeper, had been working with Douglas over the phone for several weeks prior, arranging things from rose petals, to champagne, to room changes and even hidden cameras! Here is the note from our newly engaged couple! Congratulations Douglas and Anna!  (note the hidden camera in the right eye of the smile).

"Inn Victoria was the best experience I have ever had at a Bed and Breakfast, or hotel. My plan was to spend a weekend away at Inn Victoria and propose to my girlfriend while I was there. A month prior, I contacted the Inn Victoria and spoke with innkeeper, Jess Knisley about my plans. She and the staff at Inn Victoria helped to make the experience exactly how I pictured it and went above and beyond to assure that my proposal would be perfect. Needless to say, I am now engaged and have the Inn Victoria and Jess to thank for such a wonderful experience from the house setting to accommodating all of my needs in both the weeks leading up to our visit to our time at the inn. Jess even upgraded our room for the occasion!

I should add that the 3-course breakfast each day is amazing; it will leave you full well past lunch time. I highly recommend the high tea in the afternoon as well, for not only the experience but for the finger foods provided. The staff seems to truly enjoy working at the Inn Victoria and do a great job of wanting to make their guests as comfortable as possible.  I look forward to visiting the Inn Victoria again in the future and will highly recommend it to my friends and family; a great location to stay for any occasion".

The two were enjoying luscious meals in a unique old roadhouse in the center of Weston, VT.  Owned and managed by the Vermont Country Store, the Bryant House is one of the finest restaurants in all of Okemo Valley.  In fact, says Dan; "the Bryant House Restaurant is on Inn Victoria's list of "preferred dining experiences" in the Okemo Region.

Life Beyond Death by Eben Alexander III, is now on its eleventh week on the New York Times Best Seller's List. A quick and fascinating read, this book is kicking up quite a storm. Eben will be staying at Inn Victoria in Chester, Vermont the weekend of Jan 26 and 27 in support of Misty Valley Books' annual New Voices event.

Visitors to the event and guests of Inn Victoria will have a first hand opportunity to speak with Eben, have books signed and engage in discussions about his book: Proof of Heaven. 

Dr. Alexander is a neurosurgeon who was struggling with his faith before he went through an NDE (near death experience). The book profiles his journey before, during and after the NDE.
